Default Pet Upgrade Is In Order

Now that we see what nightfall can do, let us have the same control for our pets. Maybe change it up a bit and only allow pets to have pet attacks but limit thier skill bar to only 4 attacks. This way you can run a pet with pet attacks and still do stuff. Of course that's kind of a crazy idea, but I'm sure there'd be a way to make it work.

I just wish they made pets more worth the trouble.

I remember Gail saying pet dying & armor was a possibility in Factions.

NF maybe? I can dream can't I?!

being able to target them like we do heroes would be a good start.

Uhm, Gaile never actually said that, I believe she might have said maybe if anything. Pets are quite worth the trouble though if you put a bit of thought into them rather than simply dumping charm animal into your skill bar.

I think giving them their own skill bar is a horrid idea (a beast master should carry the skills for their pet otherwise they're highly overpowered), BUT, I believe that pets should have a compass flag for control just like the heroes, and be able to attack a called target without the ranger having to physically hit that target first, again, just like heroes.

Pets shouldn't have a skill bar, but they should use the pet attacts randomly.
*I dont know if they do this anyway*

I have a LVL 17 Wolf but all he seems to do is jump up and claw whatever he is attacking.

I 'd rather use my skill bar for my skills, so i dont equip the pet attacks.

If you do that, it really is like having another person in the party, which means that the game becomes unfair. I think that maybe a pet rez skill would be nice, and that the pet can use and that pet skills can be used, even if your dead, therefore the pet can rez you if you die, or keep attacking, insteasd of using it's basic skills, but that's it. No additional skills on top of your 8, it would make ranger with pet's over powered.

I would like to see pet acting on instant as the new henchmen. You click, pet charges to the new target. You click another one - pet charges on instant. This will increase pet efficency a lot! Skills that require specific condition will be a lot easier to deliver with pets.

Also - if you are hodling item, that cannot attack, make the pet attack automaticly the target you select (and the game will say - you must be holding a weapon to attack). This will make the pet more than an extentions of the weapon and might be worth bringing in more builds.

I've made my pet, my entire focus of my build and and it still ends up being for lack of a better word "pointless". interrupting with them sucks, tanking is ok, but useless if you can't do enough dmg, DOT is weak.. it's almost like they are a crappy version of what you can allready do with a ranger. The only thing they seem good for is BP and they only last long enough for a Necro to make a real meat-wall. at least make them LOOK cool with armor or dyes & such..

The problem with that is, Izzy plainly said in an interview that any update to further control of the pet would be rolled out with MAJOR NERFS to all Pet related skills. Even mentioning that the only reason he gave pets such good attacks and shouts was to balance the fact that they have bad A.I (sort of like a "He doesnt follow targets fast, but when he does hit with an attack its a GOOD attack")

I'd rather have permanent dmg reduction and speed buffs and attacks that deal +80 dmg than a more controllable pet that could potentially only have dmg reduction and speed buffs half the time and a +30 dmg Enraged Lunge.

You do realise a Signet is a kind of ring right? How are pets supposed to wear rings?

I guess you've never seen my Phoenix's toe ring then? How about my Crab's cool claw ring?

I don't think pets need to be touched. Although I wouldn't complain if they made it easier to make your pet STOP attacking a target, rather than having them chase their target half way across the map.

Additional skillbar for pets would be overpowered but imo BM attacks should be queued + we should be able to set aggresive/defensive/passive modes. Same as heroes.
